You may have noticed on the predecimal coins of the British Commonwealth and
Empire that each monarch has two standard effigies. One is crowned, the other
is uncrowned, and they are often designed by different artists. Apparently the
Dominions (Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa) were allowed to
