...May be. And it's contagious. Last week my son (Kennedy halves and Prezibux
collector) gave me an MD-S proof Statehood Quarter that he found in the
register. He said it caught his eye because it was really "shiny." Jerry

...What a dumb-ass I have been. For well over a year, I have been putting one
roll of wheatbacks into circulation a week. A coin dealer told me he would pay
2 cents for mint-marked cents in the teens and 20's. Also, a cent and a half
for non-mint-marked cents in the teens and twenties, as well as for mint-
marked cents in the thirties. All - Fri, Mar 18 2011 5:53 am

Malta's pre-euro coinage, 1972-2007. - 1 new
--------------------------------------------
Malta issued two different circulating coin series prior to her adoption of
the bland and insipid euro series, with its bleakly monolithic neo-Stalinist
uniformity. To remind yourself of what Malta's distinctive former coinage
looked like, click on the link below: [link] - Fri, Mar 18 2011 2:41 pm

Two "pattern" coins that portray Adolf Hitler - are they genuine? - 6 new

Collectors sometimes ask whether Adolf Hitler appeared on any of the coins of
Nazi Germany. His portrait appeared on many stamp issues, not just in Germany
but in Poland ("General Government") and in the Nazi "protectorate" of Bohemia
and Moravia. However, his effigy never graced any German coin, which is quite
surprising for various reasons. - Fri, Mar 18 2011 2:48 pm

...I don't know about how to compare this to Chernobyl - but obviously Japan
doesn't have the vast landmass of the old Soviet Union. Also, northern Japan
is a lot closer to the USA than happy old central Eurasia. It's going to take
three or four weeks to have some realistic idea of where Fukushoma goes, melt-
down and depleted fuel wise. - Fri, Mar 18 2011 9:14 pm

WASHINGTON - A new assessment of President Barack Obama's budget released
Friday says the White House underestimates future budget deficits by more than
$2 trillion over the upcoming decade. The estimate from the nonpartisan
Congressional Budget Office says that if Obama's February budget submission is
enacted into law it would produce deficits - Fri, Mar 18 2011 9:18 pm
