James Berry won the competition to design the reverses of New Zealand's first
decimal coins, which were released in 1967. However, 20 years earlier, he
produced these sketches of what a decimal coinage for New Zealand might look
like. His portrait of King George VI looks more like Cary Grant(!), but some

I posted something this elsewhere, and despite the nature of this group, I
though I'd try for some serious responses here as I've received elsewhere. I'm
not optimistic, but hope springs eternal. It's no secret that one of the
attractions of coin collecting for me is how it brings out the dark side of

reverse designs on the lower denominations were very plain, and obvious copies,
apart from the country name, of the designs on the Mauritius coins. When you

...It's your call. If the note is in relatively good shape I would. If it's
bent, crumpled, dirty, torn, excessively worn, etc., maybe not. Your Hawaii
