The best florin never issued. Have a look at the superb plaster: [link]
Ultimately the choice went to the elephant mother and baby - another fine

A fun one this - have a trawl through the images. [link]The lower the
denomination in the pounds shillings and pence system, the more likely it was

King Edward VIII: His Place in Numismatics - 1 new
--------------------------------------------------
I'd never rated Edward in terms of numismatics, but I changed my mind a few
months ago. He made two key decisions that affected the coinage of George VI.
The first you probably know about, but there was a more wide-ranging one. Also,
have a look at some images of the coins that did circulate in his name, and
some of the patterns and trials showing - Sun, Nov 27 2011 1:20 pm

The Decimal Coins of the Sterling Area - 1 new
----------------------------------------------
It's not an official name any more, but any time a new UK circulation coin
comes out (the last one was 1997: the two pound coin), there will be six other
variations to be collected, from the other territories and dependencies that
use the pound. And until the late 1970s, Ireland used to be part of this group
too. - Sun, Nov 27 2011 1:30 pm

Again, this was never issued, but it's a superb design by George Kruger-Gray.
I've posted about it before, but I've got some much better images now - larger
and sharper. [link]Phil. - Sun, Nov 27 2011 1:13 pm
