A taxpayer watchdog group is pushing the Treasury to aggressively increase
circulation of $1 coins. As the US grapples with its $1.4 trillion deficit,
Citizens Against Government Waste says the move to a coin dollar could save
about half a billion dollars annually. Published: Friday, 23 Jul 2010: So what

---
What is the current ESTIMATED Population of 1896 Barber Half-Dollar Coins? I
verified the Philadelphia MINT produced 950,000 (950K) 1896 Barber Half-Dollar
Coins. Obviously all 950,000 coins don't exist due to abuse, loss, fire, war
or other reasons. It's also important to mention this is NOT New Orleans or
San Francisco Mint. - Mon, Jul 26 2010 10:13 am
