Grading Companies - 3 new

...Indeed. Several of the Victorian and Edwardian coins I assembled came right
out of my local dealer's $1 box, including a VF Victoria silver 5 cent and a F
Edward quarter. The cutoff date for this collection is 1967 (the end of the
silver era). Of course the later date coins are in even better condition (EF-
AU). - Fri, Mar 20 2009 6:15 am

selling as 'sealed mint box' and directly from the mint. What I have found is
that nearly all of the sealed mint box eBay purchases have had sub-par, highly
bag marked coins, while the ones purchased directly from the mint are, on

...I just want Michael Marotta toexplain himself.when he says coin collectors
"in general" are liars but he isnt and thatt cheating is irrelevent because
you enter a coin deal with free choice. He has a responsibilty to explain
himself becaue hes a writer for the ANA. Even if you dont agree with him and

Rarity of clover-holed tokens - 1 new

...The clover is one of several standard punches. I do not know Alaskan tokens,
but I placed an educational exhibit on coal mine tokens. Tokens could be made
this way at the factory or punched later. The point was to have a control.
With coal mines, there could be different towns and even if the stores were
owned by the same company, - Fri, Mar 20 2009 4:52 pm
