Why does gold go up in price? - 7 new
-------------------------------------
I have been wondering what makes gold go up in price, and have pretty well
come to the conclusion that it is mostly emotion. I can understand why iron,
copper, aluminum, etc go up and down in price since they are used in
manufacturing. When there is a demand for products using these materials (cars,
buildings, aircraft, etc) - Fri, Jan 9 2009 4:30 am

...Right. Which makes the monetary diversity over there all the more confusing.
Can you imagine what it would be like if U.S. states and banks could issue

bankrupt banks be discounted or refused in the marketplace? Would federal "
shinplasters" become a - Fri, Jan 9 2009 7:07 am

OT: diversion of coin money - 1 new
-----------------------------------
I diverted almost all of my coin purchasing money for a once-in-a- lifetime
opportunity. I found out about an estate sale that had rare Star Trek
collectibles, and I had to try to get them at low prices to later re-sell them
for a profit. So, I counted up my $25 box of cents, the 10 rolls of nickels
and other sundry coins, went to the - Fri, Jan 9 2009 11:30 am

Bagged Mint Coins? - 1 new

...It would depend on the year and denomination. If they're circulating coins (
meaning common date coins), chances are they're worth face value, nothing more.
The old saying, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is," really
applies in coin collecting. Do your research thoroughly, lest you get a severe
