Numismatics has changed since the late 90s... - 5 new
-----------------------------------------------------
Hi, I remember when I was an active collector that the value of a coin did not
depend on the coin grading service that was used. Now everything has changed.
Many collectors won't even consider purchasing a coin unless it has been
slabbed by one of the major coin certification companies (PCGS, NGC, ANACS).
What happened to doing your own grading? - Mon, Nov 10 2008 6:22 am

...Terry just mentioned this too. This kind of substance is interesting. The
other stuff is funny, though not in the way they intended. So, is there a
difference between 1913 Nickels, and similar coins, and 1933 Saints, and
similar coins? My view is that there's no significant difference. The former
were minted illegally and released illegally - Mon, Nov 10 2008 8:04 am

...While nearly every coin collector in Fort Worth knew the Wallaces, they
were quite well know the world over, but mostly by advanced collectors. They
seldom advertised or attended shows, but had a huge list of active collectors
with want lists, and if they didn't have an item in stock, they could quickly
get it. - Mon, Nov 10 2008 1:46 pm
