Recently bought a PCGS AU53, 1838 reeded edge half dollar,from a large on-line
dealer. But upon examination the edge looks like no reeded edge I have ever
seen. It looks like it was turned in a lathe, and there are what looks like
small Chinese characters evenly spaces at about what would be coarse reed

This one and 3 other Lincoln Cents were part of a small group of coins that
the fella's grandfather left him when he passed away in the 1970's. Three of
the keys have issues of some kind, some worse than others. All are inexpensive
