1883 No Cent Nickel question - 2 new

I have an 1883 No Cent Nickel that I acquired someplace over fifty years ago.
It is in XF condition, but - and it is a big but, it has been gold bronze
plated, I assume to emulate the "Racketeer Nickel". My question, Has the
plating greatly diminished the value of the coin. It isn't like it is a

a very nice MS-65 RD 1909S VDB graded by PCGS. It sold for $5200. Oly wrote,
and I parphrase, that one would need to be insane to spend over $5000 for 3c
worth of copper. After all, one could buy nearly seven oz of gold for that
